During that time he discipled young Cambodian men in the Bible, mentoring them to live with a love and passion for Jesus Christ. John also worked with a Cambodian national pastor, evangelizing and church planting in a few villages outside of Phnom Penh. Four small house churches were formed and met regularly for prayer, teaching and fellowship.

Returning to the United States in 2001 to obtain needed medical care for one of our children, John spent two years working on administrative aspects for COP. A new board of directors was formed at that time as COP made preparations for their continued work in Cambodia. Since John's return to Cambodia COP has acquired International Non-Governmental Organization status with the Royal Government of Cambodia and has signed an agreement granting permission to carry out humanitarian aid efforts throughout all of Cambodia. (The gospel is "humanitarian aid"!)

COP has signed a Project Agreement in Cambodia to establish Cosette's Hope Children's Home, an orphanage to care for children orphaned by and infected with HIV and AIDS.

The IRS granted Cambodian Outreach Project non-profit tax-exempt status under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3) effective August 1998. COP is incorporated in the state of Colorado.

COP is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Public Charity Organization that adheres to IRS accounting principles for financial accountability. Annual IRS Form 990 tax records are available upon request for review by the general public.

Cambodian Outreach Project (COP) was developed in July 1998, after three men from Colorado visited Cambodia to explore the prospect of ministering among the poor and outcast. That seven-day trip proved to be life-changing as these men stood face-to-face with the extreme poverty and hopelessness of a man made kingdom without God.

COP's vision has been ministry to the most needy of Cambodia's people: orphans and widows.

From its inception in 1998, John has been involved with COP and is one of the founding board members. He moved his family to Cambodia in 2000 where they lived and ministered the Good News.
